Reserve your seat now and please note the location change. The Volusia County Farm Bureau Annual Women’s Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 at 9 a.m. This Farm Bureau MEMBERS ONLY free event is just one of the many benefits of being a Farm Bureau member. At the breakfast MEMBERS get great food served by Connie’s Cafe, door prizes, a raffle, and entertainment.
Farm Bureau Women’s Committee hosts the breakfast. Each year, they arrange for a special guest speaker and entertainment. This year’s special guest is Libbie Johnson, a native of south Louisiana. Johnson has worked as the Agriculture and Natural Resource agent UF/IFAS Extension since 2003. Most of her program experience involves row crop production, but local farmers encouraged her to take the story of Escambia County agriculture and share it with the non-farming community. That goal soon expanded beyond county lines, bringing her agriculture awareness campaign as far as the Sweet Corn Fiesta in Palm Beach County. Now it’s Volusia’s turn. Johnson’s presentation will give insight on how to plan activities that share the positive role agriculture plays in Volusia County and in Florida.
The breakfast is free. It begins at 9 a.m. in the Daugharty Building at the Volusia County Fairgrounds, DeLand. Reservations must be made by March 13 by calling 386-734-1612 or by email to Caroline.Newby@ffbic.com. Please include your member number in the email. Again, this free event is for Volusia County Farm Bureau MEMBERS ONLY.
