Teachers can get grant money – Scholarship winners announced, too

Are you a teacher or do you know a teacher? Now is the time to turn in your application to get some money for your classroom project. Volusia County Farm Bureau makes education a priority by supporting college-enrolled and college-bound students with scholarships and by giving funds to K-12 educators for classroom agriculture or science-related projects.

Volusia K-12 teachers can apply now for up to $250 in grant funds. Monies may be used for school gardens, hydroponics, aquaculture, and any other science or agriculture related classroom projects. Volusia County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee sponsors the grant program. A total of $2,000 is available.

To apply, teachers need to submit learning objectives and goals, materials needed and the cost of each item, teaching strategies and a brief lesson plan along with the application. When the project is complete, a final report with photos should be turned in to the Volusia County Farm Bureau office. Reports are due on or before May 31, 2024.
