DELAND, FLORIDA – Does your school garden need a refresh? Would you like to teach your students about hydroponics? Volusia County Farm Bureau is offering up to $250 for agriculture and science classroom activities. Volusia educators (grades pre-K through 12) can apply now for the annual Farm Bureau mini-grant program.
These mini-grants may be used for any agriculture or science-related lessons in public, private or home school classrooms.
Farm Bureau believes it’s important to engage students in hands-on lessons where they get motivated and excited about what they learn. Prior grant recipients have grown a salsa garden and had a year-end salsa party. One used the money to purchase rocket supplies, and students launched their work into the air.
For the 2025-26 school year grants in the amount of up to $250 will be awarded. Application deadline is September 30. Grant winners will be notified by October 31, 2025.
