Learn the art of sourdough bread making from scratch. The Volusia County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee is hosting a public workshop on all the secrets of making sourdough bread at home. Come learn the process from agriculture experts.
The class will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Volusia County Ag Center Extension Office, 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand. Participants will learn how to make their own starter and how to shape and bake the perfect loaf. There will also be instruction on sourdough discard, a byproduct of the bread-making process, and how to repurpose this valuable ingredient into tasty treats.
Class is $30 for Farm Bureau members, $40 for non-members. Price includes lunch and a starter to take home.
