CFAP 2.1 Deadline is Feb. 26
Gainesville, FL – Farmers and ranchers are encouraged to sign up for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2.1 by the February 26, 2021 deadline, despite the temporary program freeze by the Biden Administration. Local Farm Service Agency offices are accepting applications. The latest round of program assistance includes funding for contract growers who suffered a drop in revenue in 2020 due to the pandemic. According to American Farm Bureau Federation economist Michael Nepveux, it is common for a new Administration to temporarily suspend implementation of payments and processing. Other eligible commodities under the CFAP 2 include row crops, wool, livestock, specialty livestock, dairy, specialty crops, floriculture and nursery crops, aquaculture, broilers and eggs and tobacco.
