Gainesville, Fla. –The Florida Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers have collectively compiled a listing of Florida farms and farm stands that are providing direct sales of fresh fruits and vegetables and protein boxes.
“I am so impressed with the resiliency and determination of our young farmers,” said Florida Farm Bureau President John L. Hoblick. “With the coronavirus disrupting segments of the supply chain, we are proud to link consumers to local farm outlets so that they may easily access a safe, affordable and abundant food supply.”
The list will be routinely updated and includes fresh produce and meat that can be purchased from farms directly or online. Consumers are encouraged to check the Facebook page for each individual farm for food availability and hours of retail operation.
When visiting a farm, CDC social distancing guidelines should be followed. The listing of farms and farm stands can be viewed at https://www.floridafarmbureau.org/florida-farms-selling-direct-to-consumers/.
