Did you know harvesting saw palmetto berries requires a mandatory permit from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS)? A meeting is being held to inform harvesters of the laws and permits regulations to legally harvest and transport this crop.
The meeting is Saturday, July 27, 1:30 p.m. at 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand FL 32724 in the Volusia County/UF Extension Service Auditorium, Volusia County Fairgrounds.
There will be guest speakers from Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Local and State Law Enforcement, industry producers, harvesters and buyers, and Saw Palmetto Market, LLC. Questions and concerns will be addressed.
