Are you an agriculture student or just want to learn more about how farming works? Volusia County Public Libraries now offers Gale’s Agriculture Collection, a searchable database filled with hundreds of articles on the subject. Access is free with a Volusia library card.
“With broad coverage of agriculture and its related fields, Gale’s Agriculture Collection provides a comprehensive view of a growing body of knowledge. Florida residents and students have access to current and authoritative periodical content that spans the agriculture industry—from practical aspects of farming, botany, environmental and animal sciences, to cutting-edge scientific research in horticulture,” said Kayla Siefker, Gale senior media and public relations manager, by email.
The Agriculture Collection is a part of Gale’s InfoTrac Collections Suite. Gale’s, a Cengage company, database features titles covered in the AGRICOLA database, produced by the National Agricultural Library. It’s a collection of over 600 journal titles focused on agriculture-related fields. There is also periodical and newspaper content and more than 30 Delmar titles providing coverage and discussions on a variety of agriculture-related topics. Looking for a particular agriculture topic? The database can be searched by topic by using InterLink, or with a mobile-optimized interface.
“This new resource provides Florida residents and students with high-quality content that supports learning, research, business, career development and personal enrichment around agriculture. They have all the agriculture resources they need right at their fingertips, 24/7,” Siefker added.
